Prazbar’s Journey
The vision for Prazbar was born in 2015, when founder Quenjana Adams dreamed of creating a social space for her faith community to gather without alcohol.
Life had other plans, and that dream stayed dormant—until a 2021 trip to New Orleans changed everything.
While helping her aunt search for a specific non-alcoholic wine across the city, Adams came up empty-handed at shop after shop. That frustration reignited her vision, but this time she discovered something remarkable: a completely transformed landscape of sober spaces and alcohol-free brands that hadn’t existed just six years earlier.
Chicago was ready.
We launched in late 2021 as Prazbar, hosting monthly pop-up bars. Those early gatherings—”Gin City,” whiskey nights, tiki-themed events—were our education. Through months of serving drinks and connecting with customers, we learned what our community truly wanted. The answer kept coming back: wine.
Our pop-ups grew, attracting everyone from Chicago’s faith communities to sober-curious passersby eager to explore sophisticated alcohol-free options. The interest was undeniable.
In August 2023, we opened 2048 Non-Alc Wine Shop at 2048 W. Chicago Avenue in Ukrainian Village, becoming the nation’s first brick-and-mortar store dedicated exclusively to non-alcoholic wine.
Meanwhile, Prazbar continued hosting faith-based bar events, creating the social gathering spaces that inspired this entire journey.
Now, in 2025, everything comes together.
Prazbar re-opens in our new space as Chicago’s first non-alcoholic wine bar—bringing the wine shop, the bar experience, and the community we’ve built under one roof.
This is the full realization of that 2015 dream: a place where non-drinkers can truly belong, for any reason, at any time.
